DMP at Number 39

Baxter Rhodes & Friends

Thursday 20th February 2020 9pm

Baxter Rhodes is no stranger to the Darwen music scene and those who have seen him before will realise why it's such a pleasure for us to have him performing at Number 39 where he'll also be bringing along some of his friends.

Baxter is an independent acoustic singer-songwriter from the Pennine Hills and is also a very busy man regularly making over 100 appearances each year at many different venues and festivals. Through this exposure Baxter's skills have not gone unnoticed leading to performances with names such as John Gomm, Nick Harper, Chris Helme and Fairport Convention. He has also performed on BBC Radio, All FM, PRS for Music & Unconvention and released three very received EP's.

Baxter's music has been described as "English Americana with a Northern edge" and it comes with charm, sincerity and moving lyrics sung beautifully. Put all this together with his skilful guitar work and Baxter's performances can captive an audience leaving them feeling warmed, relaxed and wishing for more.

"As delightful as marmalade on toast Baxter's succulent sounds tempt the listener to discover more." -

"His lyrics are of the poignant and thoughtful variety. His guitar playing bristles with the classic sound of John Martyn like a homage to a more peaceful time." -
