Be prepared for some very 'un-PC' humour and strong language as we welcome tonight two acts in the persons of Captain Hotknives for his first performance at the bar and also our long-time friend, Blanty.
Captain Hotknives has never been fettered by concepts such as "being able to sing", or "making words which rhyme" but this doesn't stop him from telling his improvised stories over simple riffs. The Captain's humorous lyrics will be addressing vital topics such as begging, solvent abuse, pigeon hypnosis, skankin' your nana, the pathetic nature of petty racism and the terrible quality of muffins on the trains!
Visit the the Captain Hotknives Facebook page to find out more about this charismatic and most mischievous character.
Blanty, born and bred in Rossendale, set off travelling over 20 years ago with his guitar and his gob! He has spent long periods in Greece, India, Ireland, the Canary Isles, the Western Sahara, Casablanca, Spain and Portugal, all the while soaking up the local cultures, language & music. Blanty communicates by music and smiles, his songs are laced with world folk roots flavours and delivered with both humour and style. A very entertaining musician who these days spends all summer performing up and down the country at various venues and festivals.
You can read a little more about Blanty at the Blanty Facebook site.
