It's always a pleasure and honour to welcome back to Number 39 the singer/songwriter Edwina Hayes.
Originally brought up in Preston Edwina currently lives in Yorkshire's East Riding where she began her musical career playing local folk clubs but how things were to change. By the late 90's she was playing regularly in both London and Nashville then by 2005 she had released her first album and single which received regular plays on BBC's Radio 2. In the same year she toured extensively as support act to such notable performers as Jools Holland, Nanci Griffith, Ricky Ross and Loudon Wainwright III.
Since then she has teamed up with fellow singer-songwriters Amy Wadge and Rosalie Deighton under the name of Hummingbird. Then from 2015 to mid 2018 Edwina was a member of The Mile Roses, along with Kate Bramley and Simon Haworth before returning to her solo career.
Edwina Hayes numbers Michael Parkinson and Perez Hilton amongst her fans. Her beautifully written songs, charming stage presence and voice of an angel have won her a reputation as a true natural talent of gentle folk-americana.
"Edwina Hayes is a supremely talented singer-songwriter to be reckoned with. On record, she's incredible; in person, she's unbelievable." - Steve Rudd, thisisull.com
