DMP at Number 39

Lukas Oravec Quartet

Thursday 11th April 2019 9pm

We've had the pleasure of the Lukas Oravec Quartet on several occasions previously and they have always been much appreciated so we are delighted to welcome them back to the Number 39 stage.

Originally from Zilina in Slovakia, Lukas was accepted to Royal Academy of Music Aarhus in Denmark. Here he majored in classical trumpet under Christian Steenstrup and Martin Schuster whilst also studying jazz trumpet under Jakob Buchanan. Further trumpet studies at esteemed academies in Eastern Europe which brought him in 2013 to the City of Vienna University in the class of Jrg Engels.

Lukas has worked with big bands, such as the RAMA Big Band, the Zilina Conservatory Big Band and now he is member of the orchestra Gustav Brom Big Band and Milo Suchomel Band.

In 2012 Lukas formed a new project, the Luks Oravec Quartet, a sophisticated collective who will be bringing the very finest Slovak Jazz to Number 39, quality such as this is not to be missed.

You can get full details plus music and video's from the Lukas Oravec Website.
