Nono & The Sinking Ship

plus Stovepipe

Sunday 14th April 2019 2:30pm

For the first time at Number 39 we are very happy to be hosting all the way from Groningen in the Netherlands 'NoNo & The Sinking Ship'. Plus as an extra treat it's great to be seeing again a set from Stovepipe. It's all going to add up to an afternoon of banjo lead Americana chaos!!

Nono & The Sinking Ship is a one woman 'banjofolktrash' band playing Bluegrass Banjotrash with Banjo, vocals and selfmade drum. The lady in charge is Jessie Leyten and she was the former singer, writer and guitarist in the electrogaragepunk duo The Suicidal Birds which had a small hit played on BBC Radio One and the Dutch station 3FM. Her songs are inspired by living on a ship and are about all the problems in life and in the world, happy punky tunes with a dark background!

You can find out more on the Nono Music & Art website or Nono & The Sinking Ship on Facebook.

Stovepipe will be putting on a lively and energetic folk performance that will set your feet a tapping. Watch out for some ace banjo playing and some rather unusual guitars and listen to a bunch of music guaranteed to get you nicely limbered up.

You can catch up with them on the Stovepipe Facebook page where you'll find some videos in their Timeline.
