For the first time at Number 39 (in this guise) we are most pleased to present Shunya.
Alan Keary (from Age of Glass) is a multi instrumentalist, writer and producer with a strong musical heritage encompassing classical violin to the sounds of Manchester's electronic music scene. Shunya plays live in many arrangements from solo to a 12 piece band. His music is an effortless blend of classical, world influences, dance-infused beats and infectious rhythms, all filtered through layers of technical magic and sheer talent.
Virtuosic solos fly above live beats drawing similarities to the likes of Snarky Puppy or Robert Glasper. Keary features as violinist, bassist and vocalist whilst also delivering the texture and backbone of electronic beats loops and samples through an Ableton audio workstation.
"Shunya's music changes and evolves, adapting to different situations like it were alive." - Midnight Sounds
