Western Valley Hotclub playing

with Stanley's Dixie Street Band

Thursday 8th August 2019 9pm

Number 39 always looks forward to a visit from the Western Valley Hotclub but tonight is going to be quite special because they will be bringing along two friends from the Czech Republic's famous "Stanley's Dixie Street Band".

Familar faces to many of us, Western Valley Hotclub are Gaynor Sutcliffe on Vocals, Violin, Piano & Accordion. Simon Brady on Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin and Lap Steel. And supplying the beat on Double Bass is Ray Walmsley. WVHC are a 'must see' band, one of the best of it's type in the country.

Those of you who have visited Prague will no doubt have walked along the historic Charles Bridge and witnessed some of Europe's finest musicians performing. One of those outfits would have been Stanley's Dixie Street Band, a long established band with a tremendous reputation.

WVHC are proud to be sharing the stage with two of the Czech Republic's finest. Multi-instrumentalist Jan Holena joins us on Sax, Clarinet and Keyboards along with Trombone sensation Marek Bukovjan for this wonderful night's entertainment.

Besides WVHC's usual mix of Western Swiing, Gypsy Jazz and merriment, you can look forward to prodigious portions of Czech-style American Songbook and Dixie Jazz, a combination that will have you dancing your socks off.

Hop-a-long to the Western Valley Hotclub Facebook site for more info. Also treat yourself to Western Valley Hotclub playing Route 66 at Number 39 during the 2013 Darwen Live Festival.

And to Czech-out (sorry!) Stanley's Band go to Stanley's Dixie Street Band website.
